The Process
Immortalizing the magic of your special day takes more than just hitting poses and having a nice camera. It needs a blend of artistry and giving space to allow for the truthful moments to come to the surface. That means moving beyond a shot list and being open to complexities and authenticity that give way to rich and beautiful moments. Dive into my working process to see what you can expect with me as your photographer.

As an anglophone in Paris with working proficiency in French (and Chinese), I’m uniquely equipped to help you plan your photo routes and cafe/restaurant/museum stops. Even for locations further afield, I am here for advice on timeline, recommendations, and vendor referrals!

Engagement sessions are a really special time for us to get to know each other and get you comfortable before the elopement. We’ll work together to schedule your session if it’s included in your package.

You’ll receive your photos through a curated and private online gallery. As an exclusive bonus for elopements, you’ll receive five 8X10 fine art prints — ideally I will be able to hand deliver the prints to you and then send the entire gallery.
FAQs

My job truly is to be present and to notice, and that deeply informs my mix of documentary and artistic style. This is why I encourage moving away from a shot list -- while we know the outline of what will happen, the magic comes in the unexpected and in-between moments. My goal on your elopement is to have guided curated moments and then moving into the background to capture the authentic moments that happen throughout the event. The end result is a gallery that documents the spontaneous, emotional moments and directed scenes to artistically record your love story.
I never want my couples to feel like they’re being pulled off onto a photoshoot when they want to be with each other, their friends, and their family, so the curated portraits are done quickly and in quiet moments.

The first step is to initiate contact by filling out the form at the bottom of this page. Prior to booking and after confirming that your desired date is available, I'd love to catch up over a coffee or chat over a call to learn about you, your plans, visions, and expectations, and answer any questions you may have. Based on this call/meeting, I will deliver a customized quote to you.
After you've chosen your desired package and are ready to proceed, you'll receive a contract with package details. Once I receive the signed contract and 50% retainer fee, the date is yours and my calendar is booked. The final balance is due 4 weeks prior to the event date.
If selected, we will also begin planning the engagement shoot. Many couples like these shoots five months before the elopement, but that's not a hard or fast rule.
Once on board we begin curating your location(s) and the path that we'll take.
Two weeks before the event we'll have a final check in to confirm all the details (location, timeline, etc).

For elopements sessions I have a 4-5 week turnaround, when time/projects allow I deliver earlier. For engagement, couple, and portrait sessions, I have a 2-3 week turnaround. I highly value quality over quantity while also wanting to give you alternatives in the photos. For elopements I tend to average around 35/40 images an hour -- sometimes more happens, sometimes less happens, that's part of the nature of a living event.

Photos are delivered via an online gallery for you to share with family and friends. I highly recommend that you download all the photos and back them up on your own hard drive or preferred storage system. As someone who cut their teeth in TV and archaeology, two fields that live or die on information backup, I harp on "you have three backups, or you don't have any."
When possible with clients in Paris, I love to hand deliver ordered prints. My elopement sessions include five prints, and it brings me so much joy to unveil these to the couple. These memories deserve to be expressed in physical form and not just live on phones, desktops, and hard drives.

An engagement session is the best way for us to get to know each other, and for you to feel comfortable in front of the camera. It's like the dress rehearsal before the big event. It's a great way for you to get into your flow and feel comfortable before the camera. In my experience building the rapport in an engagement session leads to better results in the elopement.
